We had one student that tested 20/100 and 20/70 and couldn't believe he could now see the outline of leaves on the trees instead of just the "green color" like in a Kindergarten drawing. Imagine how this student will improve academically when he can now see!

One of the students we referred saw a doctor right away - the doctor said it was the worst case of lazy eye he'd seen. The student saw 20/400 from one eye. That has made the screening worthwhile for us this year - to know one child will go into kindergarten seeing better.

We just wanted to thank Prevent Blindness Indiana for discovering that our child was extremely farsighted! He attended Epworth Weekday Preschool last year and was tested through your program. They recommended a follow up with the eye doctor, and it turned out that he was in need of glasses. We thought he was falling asleep during story time in the evening because he was so tired - as it turns out, he just couldn't see the pictures so he gave up and went to sleep! What a difference the glasses have made. He now enjoys coloring and bedtime stories! Thanks again and keep doing what you are doing.

Before he was so depressed - he'd sit and stare at the TV, now he stares out the window and calls me over to look at things he's like a little kid that's never seen anything before. He's excited. I'm excited. I swear there's a sparkle in his eyes that wasn't there before. His life really is lit up - he is a changed man. To me, that's happiness.

| I would not have gone and got my eyes tested if you hadn't been at Ivy Tech today. The screener noticed that I need some help, so I went to an optometrist. They did find some serious problems with my eyes, and I would not know if you had not done this screening. Just know that I do appreciate you offering this service, and I wanted to tell somebody thank you! -Adult referral |
