Currently, the average time for 5 or 6 year old to get from first referral to a professional eye exam is 4.1 years. We hope to reduce that time by working together on a tracking system designed to follow up on all referrals, not just the ones who contacted us for help. It is crucial that everyone—adult, guardian, student—understands the importance of his or her screening results and has means for follow-up care.
To receive or renew screening certification for children or adults (roughly two hours for each session), please contact our programs manager, Phil Rainey at prainey@pbeye.org, to schedule a training.
