Healthy Vision Community Awards project
The Rhode Island Dept of Health DPCP received a Healthy Vision Community Award from the NEI. In Rhode Island, the funds will be used in a campaign to promote eye health education, reduce visual impairment and foster collaborations to address vision health challenges statewide. The project will also create awareness of the need for dilated eye exams among persons with diabetes, particularly those who are Hispanic/Latino. Culturally, linguistically and educationally appropriate messages will be disseminated via radio, brochures and billboards.
