Give your time, talent and treasures!

This 3-year-old’s life was changed for the better when her vision disorder was detected
and she began treatment as a result of this vision screening by KidVision Spring 2008
TIME and TALENT:
Volunteers are needed in many different capacities to help the organization serve our state in the most efficient way possible. If your interest is working directly with the people we screen, you could serve as a Certified Children's Vision Screener, a Certified Adult Vision Screener or a Vision Screening Assistant. If you prefer office work, a Program Support Volunteer position may be just the perfect fit for you!
Certified Screeners attend a 2 1/2 hour training session and receive a 3-year certification for only $35. Group rates are available for groups of 5-10 and 11+ individuals. Bring your club or group and join our efforts! For groups of 5 or more, our trainers will come to your location.
We ask volunteers to commit to 2-hours most months according to your schedule. For more information about volunteer opportunities at Prevent Blindness Nebraska, click on the VOLUNTEERS link or Our Volunteers.

TREASURE:
Did you know that for only $9, you can give the gift of sight to a child age 2 - 5 years old? Nine dollars is the cost of providing vision screening services to a child. Help offset the fee so ALL Nebraska children may be screened during these crucial years.
The Gift of Sight:
- $9 Screens one 2-5 year old child to prevent loss of sight from common eye problems like strabismus and amblyopia
- $10 Provides vision screenings to one adult to help find and prevent vision loss from devastating eye diseases such as glaucoma
- $35 Provides a scholarship for one volunteer to be trained and certified. This is the gift that keeps on giving! Volunteers make a direct impact in the community, touching many individuals with screening services
- $90 Screens 10 children for potential strabismus and amblyopia
- $100 Screens 10 adults for glaucoma and visual acuity
- $200 Provides funds to help cover mileage as staff travel through the state to make educational presentations, training and certification for volunteers and screening services
- $350 Provides certification training to 10 individuals, who will then reach out to screen others in the community
