The charge of Prevent Blindness America's Pediatric Advisory Committee is as follows:

To advise the PBA board of directors and staff on matters relating to pediatric eye disease, including:

How PBA should undertake the fight against vision loss from pediatric eye disease
Expanding the existing base of knowledge about services for patients
Guiding PBA’s efforts to increase public and professional awareness of pediatric eye disease and the potentially beneficial outcome of early medical treatment
Guiding PBA’s efforts to inform the public about emerging research on pediatric eye disease
