Tammy Lemke, Vice President and CFO
CHICAGO (April 23, 2007) – Prevent Blindness America, the nation’s leading volunteer eye health and safety organization, has announced the appointment of Tammy Lemke as vice president and chief financial officer, effective immediately. In this position, she will oversee the fiscal and administrative matters of the organization. Lemke will take over for Gloria Buzanis who retired in April after serving the group for 10 years.
Lemke comes to Prevent Blindness America from the United Way of Champaign County where she served as its president and CEO. During her tenure, Lemke helped to lead the organization’s volunteers and staff to its most successful campaign year as well as begin the process of securing its future by launching a planned giving program and a fiscal management strategic plan.
“We are thrilled to welcome Ms. Lemke as the newest addition to the Prevent Blindness America family,” said Hugh R. Parry, president and CEO of Prevent Blindness America. “With her fiscal expertise and her vast experience in the non-profit and healthcare industries, we know that she will be an integral part of the future success of our organization.”
Lemke received her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Illinois State University and is a certified public accountant in the state of Illinois. She has been involved in a variety of charitable and civic groups including Champaign County Chamber of Commerce, Executive Club of Champaign County, Champaign West Rotary, Crisis Nursery, and her church.
