CHICAGO (Oct. 20, 2009) – Prevent Blindness America, the nation's oldest non-profit eye health and safety organization has announced the results of the second annual Prevent Blindness America Swing Fore Sight Golf Tournament a success. The outing held on Sept. 30, 2009 in conjunction with Vision Expo West at the Bali Hai Golf Club in Las Vegas, Nev., raised close to $110,000. All proceeds from the event will go to fund sight-saving programs and services for Prevent Blindness America.
“We know that economic times are tight these days and on behalf of Prevent Blindness America, our affiliates and volunteers, I want to say thank you to all of our event sponsors and participants,” said Hugh R. Parry, president and CEO of Prevent Blindness America. “Because of their continued support, we will be able to carry on our more than a century old mission to put an end to preventable blindness in both adults and children.”

Prevent Blindness America offers congratulations to all the Swing Fore Sight tournament prize winners including the “First Place Foursome” from Walman Optical, “Longest Drive” winner Andy Davis from Advantica, and “Closest to the Pin” winner Herb Schultz, O.D.
The third annual Prevent Blindness America Swing Fore Sight Golf Tournament will be held on Oct. 6, 2010 at the Bali Hai Golf Club in Las Vegas, Nev.
