As part of Prevent Blindness Wisconsin’s 50th Anniversary there will be a celebration at the Hyatt Regency Milwaukee. This Gala Dinner Event will be held on November 20, 2008. It will honor the founders of Prevent Blindness Wisconsin and celebrate PBW’s 50 years of sight saving services provided to the citizens of Wisconsin. Details will be posted on this website from now until November 20th.
A 50th Anniversary Committee has been established, and is being co chaired by Charlie Groeschell and Peter Bruce. Charlie is the Board Chair of Prevent Blindness Wisconsin, and Managing Director of Baird Advisors. Peter recently retired from Northwestern Mutual where he was General Counsel & Secretary, and most recently Chief Insurance Officer. Last fall Peter joined the Milwaukee law firm of Davis & Kuelthau, S.C. The Committee is soliciting sponsorships, planning the program, designing audio and visual material, and conducting other activities that will contribute to the success of this event.
Any one who is interested in joining or working with the Committee should contact Bob Goldstein at (414) 765-0505 or bobg@preventblindnesswisconsin.org.
Prevent Blindness Wisconsin provides free, direct sight-saving services throughout Wisconsin. In implementing these services, we prevent blindness by identifying early signs of vision disorders, facilitating early and effective treatment, and preventing eye injury. We are a non-profit organization and are supported entirely by voluntary contributions from individuals, corporations, family foundations, organizations, special events, and bequests. Our fiscal year is April 1st through March 31st.
