PBO Eye Health and Safety Education provides hands-on learning opportunities for children and adults that will enable them to make wise, informed decisions about how to keep their eyes healthy and safe throughout their lifetime. PBO has several educational programs:
• Wise About Eyes museum exhibit is designed to educate Ohio’s children and their parents and teachers on how to keep their eyes healthy and safe. Six interactive kiosks provide high-tech activities and learning experiences to educate you and your family about how you can keep your eyes healthy and safe for your lifetime.
• Wild About Eyes is a small kiosk-sized interactive exhibit, traveling to libraries throughout the state, that also teaches children and adults about eye health and safety through four activity stations.
• Wise About Eyes Exhibits-To-Go: in cooperation with the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery (in Dayton), PBO brings the Wise About Eyes exhibit directly to kindergarten through sixth grade classrooms in Ohio in an interactive 60 minute program. Find out more HERE.
• The Wise About Eyes eye health and safety curriculum that is appropriate for grades pre-kindergarten through sixth. The goal of Play It Safe With Your Eyes is to provide information and skills to children, their parents and teachers that will enable them to make wise, informed decisions regarding eye health and safety, eye protection and first aid for eye emergencies. In cooperation with the American Academy of Pediatrics-Ohio Chapter, PBO provides a one-hour medical education program to pediatric and family practice medical students and residents.
